I miss old New York already -
The Aston and the Landmark look too much alike. The same base, same massing, same colors, same AC vents, no variation, no creativity.
Kondylis is such a pathetic whore.
There should be a law banning Kondylis from having more than one project on the same street.
Unfortunately here, he's got a half-dozen while the other lowlife hack, Gene Kaufman takes over the side-streets.

There is not much of creativity in new architecture in this area yet. Come on Remy!
haha thanks for the commentary derek. Sums up my thoughts as well.
I'm enjoying this openness on Sixth while it lasts.

This one is taking forever. Are they getting close to street level yet?
They're up to street level now. There were about 4-5 floors of basement. It's distracting to see this crane pivot out my window all day. Pics from last week.

Thanks for the much needed photographic update Derek.
This thread should be combined with the other one.

Nothing much to awe about, unfortunately. I love pictures of old NYC myself, where you see nothing but finely built works of art, complete with ornamental detail, marble, etc. These new buildings are pretty cookie cutter and plain. Moma spire, where are you???
That building to the left looks pretty old, and plain.
First floor coming along...

Looks like 855 is idle. No excavators or crews in sight. I wonder what's going on.
