    Default Walk on Brooklyn Bridge

    Hi all,

We are planning a trip to NY. One of the important places to be visited on the list is the Brooklyn bridge. Since the list happens to be very long we have to to get everything planned out. We are planning to take a walk along the bridge. Have booked a hotel near Central park and will travel from there to the Brooklyn side of the bridge to get some nice snaps with manhatten skyline in the back ground and then walk along the bridge back to manhatten. What we would like to know is the best spot on the brooklyn side from where to take snaps and also any shortcuts to the walkway on the bridge from there.

    Thanks,PAV

You could take the A train to High St.-Brooklyn Bridge Station in Brooklyn. You're only a short walk away from the brigde. All you have to do is cross a street, and walk across a park. Go down toward Prospect St., and a stairway to the bridge is there on your left. Walking across the brigde should take about 20 minuets. More if you stop to rest and take pics. On the Manhattan side, there is the City Hall-Brooklyn Bridge Station. You can take the 4,5,6 trains back to Midtown.

    Cool

I've done it and it is awesome! While it's great during the day, about sunset on a summer Sunday is the best and the quietest time. That or 6 a.m. which I've also done.

Can't say the same about the 59th Street Bridge because the bike lane is on a grid you can see through to the water below and I'm terrified of heights!
