Comparing Shop's slop and Vinoly's turd on the Thames to the Dreck is like comparing the smell of dog shit and cat shit. The best I can say about this concrete heap is that when midtown keeps going supertall, it'll be refreshingly bland visual pablum. Also, it's better than Nerdstorm tower.

It wasn't a comparison, so what are you going on about?

Thanks for helping out with the [seemingly] selective attention span.

Absolutely... Would have preferred two imperceptible 700ft squat towers over this 1'400ft ostentacious monstrosity.

    Ostentatious?

I thought you didn't like it because it was so simple. Or are you just picking words out of a (party) hat?

Contrast, compare, same difference. Here's a photo of the Dreck lurking in the distance:

Sorry, but you still don't have it right.

The post was in two parts. The first part was about examples of what architects sometimes do when they push too hard. The second part was about the comparison between the Drake and 432 Park.

Here's a photo of the Dreck lurking in the distance:
Wow, look at all that horrible concrete.

The hyperbole ion this thread is amazing.

Yea thats right, ostentacious. You can be ugly, or bland, or offensive, or plain, or boring and ostentacious at the same time, no? The thought is not that difficult. (Is it?)

Some other buildings Trepye doesn't like:

    No hat.

    No hat.

    No hat.

But he seems to like these:

So the building is ostentatious because...it's tall?

The thought is not that difficult. (Is it?)
But I guess the spelling is.

    [my favorite]

Wrong... I dont consider any of those buildings to be as low quality and poorly designed and as ostentaciously ugly as 432 park... As bad as 4WTC it is not inthe same low class as this.

(A spelling dig is the best bannana peel u can fling; I'm disappointed )

    Tit-for-tat, Trepye.

    Sorry, I mean hyperboloid.
