    So that's it, huh?

Yeah, I'm a bit underwhelmed as well. I can see how they would've thought the silver spandrels would look sharp, but repeating them every floor just kills any verticality or sense of excitement.

You should come from Boulder and see it in person. It looks great. Also, the sloped roof isn't even visible yet.

Well, I'll be there at the end of october for exactly that, but I sorta meant 'I guess that's as tall as it'll be, huh?' Since there's a flag on top. Either way, I'll check it out in person, but I'm not sure it's any nicer than 7 Bryant Park. I look forward to comparing the two directly, as I feel they share many common elements.

    7 Bryant is beautiful.

I'm still floored by the news of a 1,400' Zaha tower at 666 5th.

I want to get excited about this because of Zaha is a brilliant architect but after a talented architect that designed a scraper that brilliantly adorns the west side waterfront and skyline was relegated to design a 1300 ft absolute piece of sh-- stack of insipid boxes at WTC2 I am being rather lukewarm in my expectations.

After what happened at WTC2 a "starchitect's" name no longer excites me; only the final rendering (after numerous rounds of value-engineering) and shovel in the ground will....

I think that the new 2 WTC is stunning, as does everyone to whom I've shown renderings. People who don't follow these forums love it.

I just hope that 666 is replaced. It's a hideous eyesore in the heart of 5th, as is the smaller tower to the south.

That new stepped thingy- yeah, it's stunning alright... stunningly odious!

We toured 50 West. Pictures from inside. Shame about the weather.

Very elegant tower. The crown fits nicely and the cladding is top-notch.

    I agree. It's stunning.

The following have (and will) really add to downtown:

    56 Leonard
    111 Murray
    50 West
    8 Spruce
    Silvertsein's Four Seasons

I look forward to 2 WTC, and I think that SHoP, based upon its track record, will deliver something OUT OF CONTROL at 80 South Street. It also may turn out to be the tallest tower in NYC.
