RID, you are now spamming two threads, under two different screen names.

RID & Nordikon are the same person - and equally banned.

    Wow -- Nordikon?

He's been around here for some time. Strange what these hard times can do to a person.

Are the building on the corner and the building that housed Ashby's both gone? When I last saw this site last year, I think both had scaffolding, but Gregory's Coffee Shop did not. As per my usual campaign against junky taxpayers, I lamented that I'd like to see Gregory's razed, and as per the usual retort of those who like neighborhood shops regardless of the dilapidated state of the buildings that house them, others complained (i.e., the old North Village Deli, Manhattan Meats, etc. quarrel). Here's the link: http://wirednewyork.com/forum/showth...ht=gregory%27s. Midtown Guy and I should form a ying and yang club.

I really hate this Gregory's building.

If Gregory's is razed (or in the unlikely event that its owner spent a dime on it and gave it a brick facade, nice windows and some shutters), this would be a beautiful block.

I started out scowling, but then got to this point where I had to laugh.

How about Bert and Ernie? They're both innocuous.

Seriously though, I agree that the owner of Gregory's Coffee should step up to the plate and improve the looks of it somehow.

I agree. Whether people like it or not, the owners of Nat Sherman on 42nd Street transformed a POJ into a cool little building. I like it.

A new brick facade and some detailing could transform Gregorys. It currently looks like mierda.

I am with you on this one Bert. This building already has integral AC enclosures built into the facade: making use of them would increase the amount of natural light entering the interior, and improve the curb appeal.

    Cheers
