Heh, look at those smaller irregular windows - taken right from the back of 100 Eleventh Ave.

I hope the treatment of whatever plaza on the corner comes from this works out nicely. The reason for the external glass elevators on the old design was because this property can't be built out to the corner, as the 2/3 subway tunnel actually cuts under this lot. This is an upgrade from how 21 Ann St will look behind this. I suspect the next lot(s) on these two blocks to go will be the parking garage. It does not appear to be particularly utilized.

This could be ok, depending on the how the finished material turns out. It is a dorm after all

it looks like there's a curvy Ghery-esque thingy in the lower-right hand corner of the new render

Problem with that one bullet, like many terrorists, Kaufman uses a high capacity magazine...

1.) Rendering still looks handsome in person.
2.) WHAT A HOLE IN THE GROUND. This thing is totally all dug out. Didn't see concrete back to street level yet though.

Still digging down here. There's an image of the new building on the fence. 35 stories of brick. With a little boxy extension out front along Beekman -- a bad attempt to echo the Gehryesque ripples across the street.

Is the horribly ugly hotel on Ann behind this open yet? It must be. Now that my office is in midtown, I don't get down here much.

The 49 Ann St hotel (http://wirednewyork.com/forum/showth...t=26389&page=2) will not open at least until March 2014 according to Starwood's site (http://www.starwoodhotels.com/alofth...ll/detail.html)
