It's such a shame that the original beautiful porch was remodeled, and so tastelessly as well. It's not in keeping with the style of the house at all.
I am continually captivated by all of Victorian Flatbush. It's a special place.

I used to work as an intern for Mr. Berger while I was in high school (Erasmus Hall H.S.) and then eventually Mr. Berger gave me a full time job. Mr. Berger was a very nice person to work for and I agree with the original poster... eventhough the exterior of the house looked unkept, the interior was maintained beautifully and especially the kitchen, had all the old applicances, etc. My mother (an antiques finatic) used to come by all the time and marvel at the old furniture, appliances and the staircase.
