Changing- fast!... but what is the neighborhood like?
Horse stables, garages, an incredible theater, a lot of small light industrial shops-
a block from 9th and all that-
nothing really special/ nothing really bad (i live a block away)
But if they actually get HY underway- it will be in the thick of it all.

Yeah I was up there today, and my impression was pretty much like you describe it, a fairly average place. Nothing major that felt negative, but not a whole lot I got overly excited about either. Walked by 453 today and got really pissed....
They told us that the ground floor would be a grocery store,
something sorely needed-instead (venture to guess),
the signage is now up- what are we getting?
ANOTHER CRAPPY DUANE REED (the McSam of drug stores)!
Duane is taking the whole floor? How many cellars are there? Food Emporium takes a smeller ground floor space and full 1st Cellar on some of its locations.

This tower is the perfect spot to watch future development.
LOL...I particularly love how two of the web site's images feature tenants literally flying through the air because they are so "hip". They're so "edgy" that their feet flew off the ground.
Subway tokens and checker cabs as major images
Those 20-somethings they show (complete with hoodies) wouldn't even know what those things are.
And that poor lady lounging on the bed in her lingerie while the BF is entranced by his iPod.
That must mean there will be available babes inside every unit.
They're really aiming at a demographic [ lonely + older] aching to run with hipsters
