Thread: Waffles

    Default Waffles

I was recently in New York with a friend for a few days. Every morning, we would get ready for the day, and every morning our trip was put in jeopardy by the possibility that we might not find a suitable breakfast for my friend (he is a huge breakfast person, needs big waffles to get the day started right). Of course, by the time we woke up most places had switched from their breakfast menus to their lunch menus, and it was surprisingly hard to find a place to grab some waffles/breakfast in Manhattan. I figured this time (I'l be in New York with the same person this coming weekend) I want to be prepared for his breakfast issues and have a list of good places to grab a hearty breakfast. Do any of you have any good recommendations for a nice place to grab a breakfast oriented meal? Thanks in advanced!

I think you need to say which part of the city you will be staying in.

This will help people to offer you advice.

Manhattan, staying in Times Square. I'm willing to go pretty much anywhere as long as it has a good recommendation from one of you guys. Breakfast for my friend it's a very important part of the day, so a good chunk of time is dedicated to it lol.

It is so easy Where were you looking, some kind of pu-pu-la-la fancy place? Just go into one of the decent diners that are in every neighborhood and they serve breakfast around the clock!! My neighborhood place is the Morningstar Cafe and the breakfast food is awesome, any time you go.

You can go to the Theater Row Diner at 424 West 42nd Street at Dyer Street (just after Ninth Avenue.)

You can also got to the Galaxy Diner at 665 Ninth Avenue (between 42nd Street & 44th Street.)

Both will be reasonably priced and serve a full breakfast menu (including those waffles a.k.a "Belgian waffles") at any time.

haha no we weren't in any fancy pu-pu-la-la places, in fact we were trying to avoid those, but for some reason we just had a hard time finding a place to grab a heavy breakfast. We tried lots of different diners and none had waffles! Where is the morningstar cafe? I'l be sure to make a stop there, and I will try out one of those places this weekend BrooklynRider. Thanks for the advice.
