and to answer your question, no i never see anyone on those balconies. and i tend to reflexively look fairly often, too.

I might go check it out this weekend (along with other projects downtown).

(Anyone with special requests, let me know)

    Thanks Antinimby

Keep me posted on 839 6th ave. If you can get some shots of the garage area and opposite wall too. Need to see what's going on there.

    lol Thanks.

Wow what a hodge podge of steel erection. You'd think after all this (this project has been in the works for some 2-3 yrs. min) that things would look a bit more uniform at only 7-8 or so stories high

This project may not be totally complete for another 2 yrs. if ever

It's short. There isn't much left to go for them.

My office overlooks this site. Let's just say I don't want to live in this building. Lots of haphazard looking construction, random slowdowns, beams that don't quite fit, etc.

It just would not surprise me to see this project never completed. This is the 2nd GC on the job. The job is non union. yadda yadda yadda. All I know is that our job is done and waiting to be installed. Lol been done for 6 mos. Just waiting and waiting and waiting.

They added framing three stories of rooftop mechanicals (8th, 9th, 10th floors) and a flag on top. This is even more frightening for the future appearance of the building -- why so much mechanical vertical space for such a short building?

Cladding is going up on the west side. Best vantage point is the playground adjacent to the project, between 16th and 17th midblock. I don't have my camera with me, but it gets a big thumbs-down from me so far. Bland, nearly black, very plain.

Windows are going in. This will be a very, very dark building. Black cladding, black window frames, dark tinted glass. I'm not liking it.
