Elevator and stair banks. This is the right way to build tall; core well ahead of the steel. Something that has been slow to gain popularity in the US as opposed to Europe.

    Why is that?

Efficiency would be the biggest factor. The core takes longer and more man hours to construct. The steel typically catches up fairly easily. Constructing the core within a steel frame that has already advanced ahead of it lowers efficiency and increases the labor requirements.

    Case in point: WTC1. Nightmare.

What I don't get is why someone would hesitate to resist this technique.

Thanks. It's interesting that the elevators are buried in the back of the tower and are not in the center. This makes sense here, as it preserves views.

I assume that the HBO building nearby will be redeveloped when TW consolidates at the HY.

Hines is pretty consistent with the quality of their development. HBO is a reclad isn't it?

I assume that once Tower 3 rises off the ground, considering it's using Europe's method of building, optimistically, it will have topped out within a year.

They build this way elsewhere in the US. I've seen plenty of it in Las Vegas and Miami

Even the construction of this building is handsome. This is going to be a great building when finished!

The core looks as good as the new 57th & Park tower's exterior.
