    Default 7 Bryant Park - 1045 6th avenue

Anyone know what they are doing at 1041 6th avenue? Corner of 39th street.
There is a Waldorf Demolition sign on there & they seem to be ripping down the roof.

    Thx

It's an eight-story office building built in 1956. Let's hope they do a complete demo here instead of a just reno/addition.

There's still at least 100k sf of unused air rights over this sucker.

    I took these today 8/22. 6th avenue at 40th and 39th streets

(BTW, is it possible to upload high resolution images on wired? The limit seems to be 150KB so I saved at a much lower quality compression and canvas size)

Hopefully, that piece of junk on the corner will be demolished too. I've always hated it.

    Yuck, what an eyesore

Almost hard to believe this crap is located amongst the gleaming Canyon of 6th Avenue.

The one coming down seems to be owned by Milliken. Is the narrow taller glass Milliken building just to the west of this one (blue green glass) coming down as well?

That's true now, but consider that 5 years ago, this area was disgusting. Remember what the corner of 6th and 42nd looked like before B of A was built?

    Interesting ...

1041 Sixth (1041-1053 Sixth aka 1045 Sixth aka 101-105 W 39th) recently transferred ownership from Milliken & Company to "PACOLET MILLIKEN ENTERPRISES, INC.", an investment company -- both Milliken entities are based in Spartanburg, SC. (DEED recorded 1.29.08).

The small building just tot he north on Sixth (1055 Sixth) also recently transferred ownership from Milliken & Company to PACOLET MILLIKEN ENTERPRISES, INC. (DEED recorded 1.29.08).

The corner building at Sixth / W 40th (1057-1059 Sixth aka 1057 Sixth aka 100 W 40th) has also transferred ownership to PACOLET MILLIKEN ENTERPRISES, INC. (DEED recorded 1.29.08).

So: The full block front here between W 39 <> W 40 appears to be in play.

On the other hand, the blue-green glas building just to the west of that group (107-115 W 39 aka 104 West 40th aka 104-106 W 40) is owned by a different entity. It transferred ownership in 2007 to "104 WEST 40TH STREET, LLC" at a price of $140,000,000 (DEED recorded 8.10.2007).
