Shit!
Came home today in anticipation of enjoying an extra long weekend (public holiday tomorrow, taking Friday off too)...starting with a cold beer...
...but...we're in the third day of a heat wave and my fridge has decided to go on the blink. Is there a company that provides emergency repairs? NO! Have to wait until tomorrow (thank god someone is willing to do it on a public holiday at least). Praying it's fixable.

/took split second to realize it was "C" and not "F".
At least things down your way aren't all afire![]()
^ Yes. At least it's dry heat. Hate humidity.
The hottest it's ever got here is 47 deg. C. = 116.6 deg. F![]()
My oven has dry heat too, but I wouldn't put my head in it!![]()
Ugh... we just had such an earthquake jolt. A 15th century building rocking back and forth is more than a little scary.
Go take a look at the corners of the windows and doors. Cracks indicate movement.
Also, look for anything that might have shifted out of plumb. With old buildings, they have no reinforcement and no bending capacity. If they lean too much, they fall. Period.
If you see anything, say something and get it taken care of before it either progresses, or is pushed over the edge by another jolt.
FYI.
When NYC had our earthquake jolt last August 23rd my whole building (circa 1850, with additions @ 1906) swayed to and fro. A few days later Hurricane Irene came through with lots of rain. Being August our Super was away on his annual vacation. Apparently the quaking & swaying opened up some space between old joists and bricks and roof membrane. When I awoke on Sunday morning as Irene was passing through I found that my entire bathroom ceiling was leaking like a sieve.
So definitely check for anything that might require attention. Better safe & secure than sorry & sopped. Or worse.
Oh these buildings just crack and fall on you and you die.
For now, everything seems to be OK. But I think I'll be sleeping with my pants on.
