    Default Studying at NYU

    Hi folks,

Well my girlfriend is moving to NYC to study at NYU for a start in September, although she needs to be there by August. She has already done two years elsewhere, so she only has one year or so to complete.

I wondered if anyone had a rough idea of how much she would have to take out in terms of student loans to get by comfortably, if it is likely she would get these loans and if these loans counted as income when looking for an apartment.

Edit - Also, can anyone suggest any nice, affordable areas? She has been thinking about Brooklyn, perhaps Park Slope or Prospect Heights?

    Thanks in advance,

    Don.
