The base is interesting but the whole tower is very awkward. The spire is fairly childish.

Awesome tower, that would be an incredible addition to Philadelphia especially the base. What an opportunity for them, everyone should be happy for them at this point..

Current possible tenant rumors are either Verizon, Glaxo, or TD Bank

The Eagles can't win a superbowl, how are they going to get this one off the ground.

Is TD Bank based in Philly? Since Commerce Bank got bought up the formerly unfamiliar TD logo is now seen everywhere in NYC.

Im almost positive TD is the TD in TD Waterhouse which is a Canadian Company.

As for this building with a rat-tail its not going anywhere, not in this economy.

I'd assumed that the TD purchase of Commerce was a result of the banking & financial mess this fall.

But TD bought Commerce in October 2007.

TD's logo is much more attractive than the former Commerce.

They really need to get rid of that spire it looks ridiculous. It reminds me of scary-ugly Childs-Libeskind Franken Tower.

Just think of it as a big middle finger telling everyone off in that general direction. Now my only question is whose getting it? NY? Washington? Pittsburgh?

Yes TD bought Commerce ahead of the financial mess. It started its move into the US by first purchasing Banknorth originally based in Maine I believe. Then came Commerce. All the Canadian banks for the most part have avoided the issues the American banks have experienced. There's very little subprime stuff in Canada because of government regulation. They are now sitting on a lot of cash waiting for the smoke to clear in the US. When it does expect them to be big buyers of American banks. Same goes with the insurance companies. A couple of the Canadian ones are looking at parts of AIG.
