    Absolutely !!!
The Tree Festival was usually celebrated by children every year in the Ruiz Hidalgo Park...
    ------------------------

It seems that the curse existing over this project was never going to stop: the bidding procedure is canceled for serious administrative irregularities...

Murcia, 21 sep.

As you tell is really a pity the great number of historic buildings destroyed or demolished on the city in the last 150 years. The city heritage has been beaten many times. I'd like to ask about ancient pictures taken along the urban axis configurated between Arenal Square and San Pedro Street.

The building existing on the picture just at the corner of San Pedro Street and San Nicolás (4) was demolished on the past to expand the cross street and removed on the urban grid since then...

Yes indeed, these pictures were taken on Cardinal Belluga Square in the early twentieth century. It can see on the images, as the square was paved with cobbled stone in the same way that the other streets sited on the heart of city.

Main Entrance at Alameda de Colón Ave.

My vote would be for the Exhibition Agricultural, Mining, Industrial and Fine Arts celebrated at Murcia in 1900. It was a complex of pavilions designed in Eclectic and Historicist style by architect Pedro Cerdán Martínez for the occasion on behalf of the City Council. The exhibition was held at Floridablanca Park in El Carmen District (South Murcia), and was inaugurated on June 16th, 1900. The main entrance, created for the occasion, was sited at Alameda de Colón Ave. Around the Exhibition Complex was installed a tram line for the visitors could tour the Exposition's facilities and the splendid park created in the late-eighteenth century by the architect Juan Bautista Lacorte, considered the oldest urban park existed in Spain. After finished the exhibition in 1900 all the buildings were demolished and the park restored to its original state by the Municipality.

WOW. The main entrance was really impresive !
The City Council could commission a replica on the future and install it in Floridablanca Park to commemorate the Exposition held in 1900.
