Nice Video, And The Stamford Express Train Is A Hard Train To Catch Sometimes.
For posting the video and THANK YOU to the people who put that together!!
Ingrid Bergman, Gary Cooper, Claudette Colbert and Judy Garland - does anyone recognize the other actors? I think the lady in the phone booth is from the film 'Dear Hearts' with Glen Ford(?).
^ Ingrid Bergman was with Gregory Peck. Cary Grant was in Grand Central.
I always get those guys mixed up lol.
where did you get the audio track of natural sound from the old anouncments?
The anxiously expectant lady with all the luggage (and in the phone booth) is the late great Miss Geraldine Page.
Apparently the film is "Dear Heart" with Glenn Ford and Angela Lansbury from 1964.
A webpage with info on films with scenes shot in Penn Station.
The shots of the lone man I think are from Kubrick's "Killer's Kiss" (1955)
So, too, the bedraggled, horsey-looking woman with the handkerchief and a headache (@ 4m 50s).
The guy zipping down the staircase in blazer and sneakers is Farley Granger from Hitchcock's "Strangers on a Train" (1951).
Is that Marilyn Monroe in the white dress who stops mid-way down the staircase (@ ~ 1m 45s)?
Great shot @ 2m 16s of a young blonde woman running through the station. Almost impressionistic.
mr met, it's just old movies that somebody spliced together. I'm guessing they recorded ambient sound at the time and mixed it in.
