    Default Union Square

Do we have any photos of the eastern side of Union Square before Zeckendorf Towers?

    Found them:

Start on THIS PAGE in the Union Square Park thread, scroll down to post 40 and continue from there to find links to a scad of pics from the NYPL digital library (my favorite place to find great shots of old NYC).

Thanks, this city does an incredible job of destroying its short history. Yet we have so many open lots and railyards we can seem to build on.

aah thx for those historic union sq pics. i remember when zeckendorf was being built, as i recall it seemed like it took forever to be completed. it sure went a long way toward running the druggies out of union square, which was a scary disgrace by the early 80's. so did the green market and the late go-go nineties economy too i suppose.
