Topping out party for the south-west corner?

Perhaps this is a question for any civil engineers here, but this project seems to be taking forever to rise out of the ground. I know the design is complicated, but there is nothing above the lobby level yet and there are tons of guys on site every day. Any thoughts?

It's a big site and from the Jan 15 pic above looks to have lots of drops and levels. The aerial pic also shows that the main lower floors are essentially the same as 9-12 floors worth of a high rise.

You can see them starting the next level on the north side above. Servicing the site with a track luffing jib is also a slow process. I imagine they don't have a tower up (yet) because they'd need at least two to reach all areas of the site.

It's crazy to me that this is actually happening. It's too good to be true. I expected much more active community opposition to this "monstrosity", whose wish for seven story Po-Mo faux brick boxes would eventually be fulfilled.

Most people driving by have no clue what's coming.

True. It sure will be a delight to see while "driving by" once completed: this design is fantastic....

This tower will be stunning, as is the Mercedes House.

This stunning rendering of 514 11th has surfaced. I assumed that Larry would penny pinch and build a cheap Goldstein Hill
Box, but maybe he'll build something nice instead.

Looks like they are putting a bigger crane in at the site today.
