Thread: Vehicle Security Center (VSC) at World Trade Center

^Definitely agree, placing it near the PATH is a much better solution than in Liberty Park. The proposed new Liberty Park seems like it will primarily function as an entrance to the World Financial Center... much more a park that people pass through instead of a place to spend time. The sphere will be mostly lost in the hustle and bustle of the passing crowds. Not many people will make a journey up there just to see the sphere, and many won't even know it exists up there.

It's truly a miracle that it survived the collapse of both towers and I find it hard to believe no plans were made to incorporate this into the memorial, yet so much effort went into preserving the survivor's staircase.

^Shows how the park will be on the roof of the VSC, and the ped bridge will terminate on the roof. They are getting ready to construct the piece of the bridge that will extend onto the roof.

Which camera is the second attachment coming from? The one atop the Hilton is obscured by 4WTC.

Is there a plan to rebuild the pedestrian overpass from the WFC once the VSC is complete?

Plan is to keep the original with an egress connection atop the VSC.

A view most people will never see. From the bottom of the west mechanical room in the VSC.

That's right, the existing bridge will be upgraded and extended onto Liberty Park (on top of the VSC). Details for that are pretty vague at this point. The repositioning of St Nicholas Church etc will probably affect the final design etc.
