Any truth to the Harrison Yards project going bankrupt? That's the word on the street and on the FB groups.

Back over the summer, the General Contractor for the project (Hollister Construction) filed for bankruptcy protection in state court, so it was the GC (working on projects throughout the state) that went bankrupt. The developer (Accordia Realty) has actually been presenting plans for the next (much larger) phase of the project to the Town Council, Redevelopment Agency, and Planning Board over the last few months, so it looks like it’s just a matter of waiting for an agreement to be finalized before construction re-starts.

Much to look forward to in 2020 for Hudson County’s parks and open space

    "On the horizon in Harrison

A 9-acre park along Cape May Street and the Passaic River will go out to bid at the start of 2020, according to Harrison officials. The park will include a walkway, dog park, and areas to picnic.

“Parks are very important to the public as Harrison is a densely-populated town. It makes a big difference when people have greenery to take advantage of,” Harrison Mayor James Fife said.

The town has received $750,000 from the county to upgrade its Little League field. Vinny Lutkus, assistant director for the town’s community center, said the Fireman’s Memorial Playground and the Library Park Playground opened earlier this year following improvements as well."
