I am sorry to inform you that the forum member that you all knew as Zensteeldude died from injuries sustained in an auto accident on April 20th, the day before his 49th birthday.

Know that his wife and three children are alive and well and coping with this tragedy as best they can. This is the LAST post from Zen. God bless us all.

OMG!!!! I miss him already!! Jesus!!!

Linda, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss!!

He was a great commentator and he gave us all the in's and outs on the WTC, including most of the technical stuff & aspects of the project. Hopefully, you'll become a member here and continue the work that he started. The board won't be the same without him!! Can't believe that we've already lost him that soon!!

God bless you. Please don't stop keeping in touch.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

He was a very knowledgeable contributor to this forum with an obvious passion for construction and engineering.

Good Lord - thats terrible - and to think I was looking through the latest batch of photographs wondering... where's Zen? Is he OD'ing on the steel porn?

He will truly be missed - my excitement of this new tower will be forever tempered by knowing that no matter how excited I am about it... he would've been even more so

For anyone who didn't know frequent WTC contributor, ZenSteelDude, passed away on April 20th from injuries sustained in an auto accident.

Though only here for three years Zen was one of my favorite contributors on this site, and his excitement about the WTC project was infectious - I looked forward to new photos of the WTC just to read his (knowledgeable) reaction. I only regret that I didn't share with him how much his posts brightened my day, before he passed away.

If the site wishes to contribute anything to his family, I would be glad to chip in.

What a terrible news, it's just unbelievable! :O
And just to remember he was leaving professional reviews of my drawing attempts to depict sections of Tower One... It will now and for ever be associated with Zen in my memory...
    He will be missed.

That's awful. Terrible news, both for selfish reasons (he was one of the most insightful posters on the board) and because he seemed like a genuinely good guy. It's especially tragic that he leaves behind a loving family in the prime of his life. RIP friend

    Re: Zen.

Awwwww noooooo! I'm speechless. Ditto the above comments. I always looked forward to the snippits he'd give on the PATH station. I thought it had been a bit long since I'd seen a Zen post. He will be missed. And.... and.... this is beyond sucky.
