Now I see why some claim that those receiving Rapture will number about ~170K out of the 6 Billion souls on the planet.

But after following the chart I'd bet the actual number who qualify under the Rapture Guidelines would be far lower.

    No crowds in Paradise.

    Sunday Morning Damage Control ...

    Harold Camping Post Rapture Interview

    May 22, 2011

How certain were you the world was going to end on May 21 — did you have any doubts?

I’m battle tested man. I’m tired, I’m so tired of pretending like my life isn’t perfect ... I’m dealing with fools and trolls, dealing with soft targets and it’s just, you know, it’s just strafing runs in my underwear before my first cup of coffee because I don’t have time for these clowns.

    Can you expand on that?

I don’t have time for their judgement and their stupidity and you know they lay down with their ugly wives in front of their ugly children and look at their loser lives and then they look at me and they say “I can’t process it!” Well, no, you never will, so stop trying ... just shut your traps and put down your McDonald’s, your magazines, your TMZ and the rest of it and focus on something that matters.

    Meanwhile, back on planet Earth:

Well, we're all still alive. How many of you believed that the end was near? Really.

Once again, those apocolypse "geniuses" were all proven wrong.

I think I'm the victim of politics. That messy evolution thing in Tennessee.

It's stupid to think there will be an impending end in such a manner. Most of the bible was completely made up by people trying to get the favor of the population during the chaos of the fall of the Roman Empire. Most everything is completely fabricated, to rely on any specific notion in the bible as fundamental truth is deluding yourself. There will definitely be several apocalyptic events on earth eventually, but people like to think they are so important that it will happen in their lifetimes. Eventually a large meteorite will hit and blow us into a new ice age, but even then I have confidence in the survivors to find a way to maintain civilization. The real end comes when the sun goes out, many many million of years from now

Regardless GG, you start with a statement like that and you will convince nobody.

The thing that gets me is when you even suggest that ANYTHING in the Bible could be conjecture, hyperbole, parable (including ones TOLD BY JESUS TO BE SO), or that parts contradict itself, and you will get many that will curse the air you breathe because of it.

Religion is fine, so long as you never become so blind you can't see what you are wading through.

But seriously, it's not logical at all to believe there was a world flood and some guy named Noah made a big boat with two of every animal that survived and multiplied to re-populate the earth, who in their right mind could believe that. Same for the Earth & humans being created in 7 days. It makes for a good metaphor, but when you consider that humans share the same foundational gene pools as bacteria that evolved over millions of years, it makes no sense as a fundamental truth that there was such a "day 1" for human life.

That's not to say that you shouldn't believe in God, I strongly believe in god, but I won't fool myself into believing that I know anything about who or what he is. The fact is life does exist, and it really shouldn't. There should be nothing, no rocks, plants, sky, people, nada. To me the fact that anything at all exists is evidence of some sort of higher power that I know nothing about. I think people believe in these crazy concepts to divert themselves from the sheer terror of the unknown that follows their eventual death. A lot of these religious concepts have been repeated for many generations, so people take that ancestry to mean truth and get scared into not questioning anything for fear of forsaking themselves

Agreed GG, but seeing how, 1500 years later, people were ready to kill a man because he was saying the Earth was not the center of the Universe, it is also reasonable to assume that if you started talking about invisible organisms that we evolved from you would not be met with much of a better response.

Much of what id in the Bible is metaphor, but it is easier for someone to believe in an impossible absolute truth than to take something in context and apply it to a life 2000 years later.
