Default Midtown Apt. with BEST Skyline Views - PLS HELP!

hi there, hope someone can help me. I'm coming to NY in december and i'm trying to understand if its possible to realize a dream i have. I'm looking for an apartment (rental) for 2 person at a very high floor plan of a high rise building that has the PERFECT wievs over the manhattan skyline..Somthing located at a level of the 57-55th st.(or somthing like that), looking south..Views like, for example, from top of the rock when u face south..or views like from high floors at the trump world tower when u face South-west.

In easy words the perfect skyline view on an apartment with floor to ceiling windows, located not so far from the end of central park, facing south, no matter the size, can be a little studio too, the important thing is the view. Somthing really huge. Better if it is a corner apt. Next year i will come to NY for my new job, so i'm looking around these months to find the perfect one.

I really really hope someone can help me.

    Thanx in advance to everyone!

The only advice I can give you is, if you get too high in a building, when you sit down all you will see is the sky. IMO it's better to be a little lower in the building as you and your guests will spend more time sitting/reclining than standing.

That's why i had the best views from top of the rock..and anyways, since there arent residential buildings so high, i think that height wont be a prob.
    anyways, thx for the advice..

the higher floors of the Orion look like they have pretty awesome views you are looking for, but thats 42nd Street on the west side. I would guess the new Mima is similar. Some of those rental buildings on 6th Ave in Chelsea would have the unobstructed downtown views as well. Dont expect any of these high floor apartments to come cheap though.

If "moneys are not a big problem" then you'd be wise to hire a broker with real expertise. That is, if you're seriously rich and trying to find a place to live.

There is a tall condo tower (and hotel I think) located on Columbus Circle: there is a large silver globe stature in front of the buildings lobby. I had the opportunity recently to see the view from one of the 'south-facing' apartments near the top of this tower: very nice city view and pretty much fits that description. I recall the Trump name: but it was not the 'Trump Tower' building. Hope that is some help - there are enough 'clues' there for you to locate the exact building of which I speak.

Also, my personal favorite views are the 'south, high floor, windows' at the Sky House, the Orion, and the Platinum buildings: all great vistas on Manhattan looking south. The other nice feature to all the above mentioned locations is the 'full daylight' the interior apartments get from the 'southern exposure'.

If you do a google search I am sure you can find both photos and videos for may of the above mentioned locations.

    Cheers

Your welcome: and yes Trump International sounds right. Sky house would be my first choice; and another building that comes to mind it the new glass tower on 23rd street near Madison Avenue.

That building is still in litigation and most of the units are frozen.

thank u again! i checked all the towers u adviced me, but i cannot find so many detailed photos with specifics apartments. and these buldings apartments are not listed on the city sites i normally check.. like i said, i know the orion, but in my opinion is a bit to west..About the trump tower, u probably talk about the hotel city view deluxe suite..the problem is that alot of these suites are located at low plans and views "suxx" a bit..anyways, in the last couple hours i found somthign interesting at CASSA TOWER and OLYMPIC TOWER too..keep looking..THX AGAIN!

O.K. ....... the 23rd street building is out of the question: my top choice comes down to the SKY HOUSE. There are plenty of photos on that thread, and most likely a few showing the 'views'.
