Thanks BL. I took a gander at the parking lot a few days ago. I'm assuming the building will take up the entire parking lot footprint?

The rendering makes it look like it will take up more than just the parking lot.

    That base looks block long.

There's a couple of buildings on the corner but they're nothing special.

    NB permit filed for this.
    754 units, 53 stories, 563 feet

If the design really will have spires, this may be in the running for tallest building in Brooklyn.

    Its competitors:
    Avalon Willoughby Place: 596 feet
    388 Bridge Street: 575 feet

Eventually the main City Point tower will rise to about 700 feet.

I wish they would kill the red brick.

The brick is tolerable, though still too Po-Mo 90's for my taste. It's the three story brick mullions that I hate. At least the massing of the tower itself is great.

I agree. The massing is very good.

Plans for the Hub, a 53-story tower planned for the ever-growing Downtown Brooklyn were released in February, but the Dattner-designed project comes into clearer focus when new views were revealed this month. Developed by the Steiner family, who is also building a 50-acre media hub/film studio in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the tower will house 720 apartments and 42,000 square feet of retail space and feature a large rooftop terrace and bike parking for each unit. Located at 333 Schermerhorn Street just blocks from the new Barclays Center, The Hub could measure up as Brooklynís tallest when itís completed in 2014.

I'm actually glad those corner buildings are being saved for now. They have character.

    This brick color looks better.
