I like that attitude.![]()
The other day I was on the Jersey City waterfront not far from the new Hyatt. As I was walking, I saw someone holding out a camera taking a picture of himself with the World Financial Center in the back ground. I just kinda glanced at him and continued walking. THEN someone headed for the Ferry (likely a New Yorker Communter) offered to take the picture for him.
"Why didn't I think of that!?" is what I was thinking.

Sometimes they have weird cameras.
Some Simple Dont's (from the Valentine's City of New York Guide Book, 1920)![]()
Don't think you'll get a reply - Fabb hasn't posted in years. That post was made in 2003.
Loft did a vintage bump.....
Gotta file the good stuff where it belongs ...
Funny how the advice still fits 90 years later.
Watch out of those "smart" women... and don't ask a NYer any questions.... They don't know anything.
Some hilarious advice. Don't leave your jewelry in a public bathroom!
Seriously though, when I see tourists looking lost, maybe peering at a map, I usually offer to point them in the right direction. Living in Midtown, this happens frequently. I often see other New Yorkers giving directions as well. It's an expression of civic pride for many of us. On the other hand, when I see a group of 30 of them choking up the sidewalk, it gets annoying. This time of year my neighborhood is positively swarming with foreign visitors.
You need your NYC official Air Horn MTG!
They banned the electric cattle prod (I<3NY, now MOVE!)...![]()
