Doe this project include developing the northern section of the high line?

The northern end of the highline is getting developed by the highline (friends of the highline). I think they're just waiting while this building is built over it. They're rocking out on the portion of the highline west of here, though. I believe it's been stripped all the way down and already had a new bed built back up (poured).

    Two separate projects running concurrently.

The High Line is a NYEDC project. The last segment is being done in three phases.

The first is a permanent configuration down W30th St to 12th Ave, and an interim walkway to W34th St. This will open next year.

The second is the spur through the Coach building over 10th Ave.

The third is a permanent configuration of the 12th Ave-W34th St loop.

And that final loop of the HL will only be completed as the market demands development of that section of HY.

I am surprised the city did not make the developers pay for the HL work in this section.

This building on the left is the definition of "meh".

I like it. It has nice details, particularly for a rental.

Actually it's the one on the right called "Ohm" that is the definition of meh.

Allow me to go on record as saying the 14 Story prefab in the middle is the Meh-est of them all.

Total extermination? Not likely...fugly office buildings with large floor plates tend to survive almost anything.

It would be interesting to see a tower rise above it, however. It would keep the skyline from dropping off between Brookfield's boxes and HY.

I should imagine the huge tower on tap for the empty lot next to it would do the trick too. Wasn't that the spot for the long dormant World Product Center? Hmm, Wikipedia seems to think not. ok, to bisweb. Looks like last filing was for a 61 story, 774 ft, and 153 unit apartment (possibly hotel as well). That would do the trick.

After massive disappointment with 432 Park and 225 W 57th, Related came through with the HY. This will be a great project.
