These are from a month ago or so. There were more photos but I can't seem to find them. When I do I'll post them.

The Marine Parkway/Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge connects Brooklyn (Floyd Bennet Field) to Queens (Rockaway). It was built in 1936 and renovated last year.

    Lower Manhattan and Downtown Brooklyn

Bird with cruel intentions. He tried, I noticed, he failed. The evidence can be seen oozing down the steel.

Nice photos. There are some trails at the beach area.

So that warning isn't Strictly Enforced? I wanted to take some shots from the bridge, but I've already had discussions with the police on three occasions.

Where's a falcon when you need it?

    Nice views.

You guys need to de-dramatize the whole issue of bird poop.

    Not bird poop....pigeons.
There's evil intent written all over that stupid face.

Hope you've got some closeups of the bridge.

Great pictures! Looked like a nice day for a stroll across that bridge. I'd like to check out the area. You say there are trails there Zippy?

The pigeon thing is reminiscent of that Seinfeld episode, right? According to George Costanza, we have a deal with the pigeons. They get out of our way, and we look the other way with what they do to our statues. So what they do to or from bridges is not in the contract.

As I remember, the deal with pigeons does not extend to squirrels.

All the land around there is federal, much of it natural. There are trails.

I do have a picture of the narrow side of the bridge, but I can't find it.

Zippy, the warning for bikes isn't enforced either, although it's 'forbidden'.

I found one, not the bridge but a view of Rockaway west.
