New Condo Towers in Williamsburg

I know that two sizable condo buildings are planned for the old Schaefer Brewery site in Williamsburg's Southside, on Kent south of Broadway. The city approved this project some time ago. Does anyone know if the developers have broken ground?

Last time I checked the lot was barren and full of snow.

I hope they changed the design. To me the buildings look horrible, but the varied windows and balconies are probably a reponse to the need for Sukkot for orthodox Jewish families

Looks Dutch........at least in the rendering. Similar to many recent projects in Rotterdam.

Would be nice if it was still a brewery.

Maybe with Brooklyn Brewery (Williamsburg), a new brewery for Heartland (Ft. Greene), Park Slope Brewery (Red Hook), and maybe Rheingold (?), BK will become Brewer's Row again. *

Why can't we get some micros going like Colorado or the Pacific Northwest??

Does this mean they are tearing down the old building? That would be horrible. Someone has to take control of all this crazy development happening in Williamsburg. Its all such a shame.

I don't like them. The varied balconies are nice and expected due to the need for Sukkot but the windows don't do it for me. I like the use of glass on the ends though.

No one in his or her right mind can seriously say what I said. But the renderings are so crude that there's hope for a better result.

Lol I'd love to give suggestions but alas, I'm a mere teenager. By the way those renderings most probably are close to what will be built, as the balcony style is omnipresent in the neighborhood and the boxy/varied windows style is often one entity. Also, there's really nobody to tell them otherwise.
