And the entire base is now covered in H&M signage & vids -- H&M has opened a mega-store there, with new glass facade, in the big space that used to be the ESPN Zone.

The ESPN Zone is gone? Damn, that was my favorite bar.

You need to get out for drinks more often

ESPN Sports Zone closed there in 2010

H&M has become the Starbucks of clothing retail.

I hope that Skadden leaves and anchors a new tower.

Doesn't really look any more prominent than the GE sign.

From this angle it isn't particularly more prominent. Where it's a major difference is from the Turnpike in NJ. You can see it coming into the city through the meadowlands, and then again from the helix. Unfortunately, I was driving at the time, so I don't have that photo.

Notice the lights at the top of Extell's Gem Tower --shame that wasn't taller. Nelson Tower's crown could use some illumination. I also wish they'd turn back on the lights at the top of Times Square Tower and the Morgan Stanley Building.

I hadn't noticed that. Pretty excellent. I'll have to get by my buddy's office in time life and try to get a pic from right on top of it some night.

Gotta say the storefront turned out really nicely.

And that block of the new pedestrian plaza north of 42nd is pretty much complete and was opened last week. No curbs!
