It's my favorite "boxy" tower in the city.

I would like it much more if the powers that be would remove that hideous antenna from the top. Not only is it off-center, but it looks like those old CB towers that truckers used to have in their yards so they could keep in touch with their fellow truckers from their homes.

Agreed ^ Nothing right about that antenna.

Still not as off-putting as the single antenna on Aon Center in Chicago.

Yeah, you would think with all the money Mayor Mike has he could have come up with something a little better then that.

I do too. However, there's still a lot of dilapidated crap in this area that should be razed.

Can't imagine being able to look out my bedroom window at that view every day <sigh>.

Did that rug lose a fight with a defective vacuum cleaner or something ?

I agree. There are many old buildings that need serious TLC, but there's a lot of crap that should come down, like the west side of Lex between 57th and 58th (north of the nice tower).

    And so stands the Irony....

One thing that makes this building great is the fact that there really are not a lot around it that are similar (size/height).

As was seen in Hoboken, you get a development with OUTSTANDING city views... only to have another placed RIGHT IN FRONT OF IT, blocking most of it.

You get enough of these places and all you will get to see is your neighbors kid on your neighbors bed......

There's nothing ironic about it. If the buildings that I refer to were of the quality of the ones on 57Th where 432 Park is rising, I would oppose any demolition. However, they are filthy little eyesores with no details that house junky stores.

P.S.: If your neighbor's kid is a 20 year old blonde who's home from college, I would like to see her on her bed.
