I like its tall thinnest side facing times square as a classic shot but any other angle it is banality.

I think the zig-zag of the facade looks great when you approach the building from the south.
I think it looks georgeous. There is something surreal about walking around the northern part of times square with all those postmodern glassy crystal looking buildings surrounding you. They're awesome symbols of power and success.
Yea, tackiness never looked so good.

Ahem...that wouldn't qualify as tacky to me... Yes, times square is a little cluttered and has some ill advised ads and neon, but it is a symbol of capatlist power and actually appears quite futuristic in places. I mean, you don't consider the streets of HK tacky, or Shanghai's Najing road.
Tack to me are places like Cony Island, Santa Monica pier, Brighton England Pier, Ocean City, MD...etc... just disgusting ugly places that have no class at all and represent nothing but excess and gluttony.
Excess and gluttony? What about fun and frivolity?
I like Times Square, I love all the signs and video screens and vibrant lights. Its good that it is just one part of the city, so it gives you a small taste and then you can leave to other parts. NYC is a lot of different parts mixed into one. That's why it works so well and I love it.![]()
