Great facades. I like the broken mullions at CIBC, its innovative, and high-tech. SOM doesnt dissapoint with skins, their massings still do. But the aftereffect is unique, its computer inspited, not romantic, but unified and bold, this new generation is indeed very interesting.

I noticed this weekend that bulky CIBC now blocks the view of the Chrysler Building from most of Bryant Park.

I also noticed the south tower of AOL/TW seems to have new thin steel bars being erected at the top. You can just make them out in Gul's photo (the tower on the left). Could this be a final thrust upward or has that been there and I haven't noticed?

    AOL Time Warner:

Yes, it's moving along. I see it every day out of my living room window, so it has lost its novelty for me. I will be glad when it is done, but happier when Hearst is complete.

    TXSQ Tower:

Funny, the way the light is playing off the curtain in this photo it looks a bit like the Morgan Stanley building at the other end of the Square.

    Bloomberg, not much progression:

    Not enough to comment on.

    CIBC, waste of space:

Ditto that comment. With SOM I'm sure it is quality construction and materials, but as for the design, there is no design. This is not architecture, merely real estate... quality real estate, but still, only real estate.

I think CIBC is a nice glass box. *Not much else, really...

AOL-TW has topped out, and the cladding is about three-quarters finished.

Bloomberg's podium is finished at this point.

TSQ Tower is three-quarters done structurally, I believe.
