    Nice finish!

I find it striking that given the huge building boom we're having, the main site isn't being developed yet.

True. They have to create land on the other side of town, while those lots sit vacant.

I forget, didn't Solow sell this land? He isn't developing this, right?

what is the short building in the lower right. Is that a vent for the Queens midtown tunnel?

Think that's for LIRR to Penn. A documentary about what's under NYC would be very interesting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_River_Tunnels

I happened to walk by this today. The facade looks very nice! Great materials.

    See a 3D animation here - http://jdsdevelopment.com/626-first-avenue/

The photos posted below by Tectonic really set the stage for Fred & Ginger (or Jay Z and Beyoncé) to come dancing on the stage: flanked by a bunch of big, rather boring brick buildings. I like these twisty towers, and that cool sky bridge connecting them: it is what I call good architecture simply for rising above the mediocrity of the neighboring 'building standard' architecture.

I have found another 'favorite' among the many new exciting projects current under construction. I hope this project now begins to garner some well deserved attention, and commentary/photos. Oddly enough, these interesting projects are brought to my attention by the critics who bump up the thread with shrill cries of "Lame" "crap" ... So let the flood gates of WNY architectural recrimination open: it all good.
