    Hah! Funny!!

I walked by recently and saw machinery on site, but I thought that it was in connection with the demolition of the Craft Museum. Are we sure that this work is for Verre? If so, I'm heading to Duane Reade now!!

I feel like it will be at least another year before it actually starts rising. I'm disappointed that the Transformer, 225 W57 got going before this.

Considering that the original 1200ft height is pretty much rendered moot by the other developments nearby can that height be revisited? Is that retard Amanda Burden still in charge in the DiBlasio administration? If not, can this at 1200 ft instead of 1000 ft can serve as a pleasant neutralizing aesthetic to Vinoly's Crap on 432 Park.....

Forget it. The neighbors that were behind the original efforts to squash this tower are still around and will no doubt sue if the city were to reverse course here.

No one, including the developer will want to go through that again.

How is it that people who chose to live in Midtown Manhattan won a fight over the height of this building?

Because they're friends with Amanda Burden.

Because during the public review process, the people that spoke out against the tower outnumbered the supporters something like 100:1 and they were also more boisterous. They went to meetings. They wrote and complained to their representatives.

City officials were pressured to listen and give in a little to what they thought were the public's opinion.

I guess I'm wondering if anyone asked them, "If you're so worried about tall buildings, why do you live in Midtown?"
