With the settlement, they reversed the construction order. It was to be tower 2 followed by 3 and 4, but now, 3 and 4 will go first. I think the site for 2 and 3 has no complications from the Path Station (existing or new) and therefore, can be built out more quickly.

There is no reason to build them in clockwise rotation.

^That's correct. But to answer PHLguy's question, Foster has been working on Tower 2 for a while. He had been doing work on the design since before Silverstein and the PA reached their agreement - before towers 3 & 4 were bumped ahead of 2 and before the architects were announced for 3 & 4.

I can't even read about the memorial anymore - the whole thing has become tedious and pointless.

But there are some positive signs around the sight.

There is a crane in the pit.

Plans are moving forward for constructing the underground concourse from the WTC site to the WFC Wintergarden. Truck delivery will be rerouted this summer so that construction can begin.

That isn't a crane Zip. That is part of the "memorial" They want to include it with the section of slurry wall as a commemorative of the "historic" work to reclaim the site.

    I just checked my notes.

    That's sarcasm, right?

    Define "sarcasm".

Any statement where words are in quotes, or accompanied by a winkie emoticon.

If not sarcasm, then the crane is not big enough to be a memorial element.

At this point in time I am reserving my designation of the original statement as "sarcasm" or "irony" until its true meaning is obtained.......

Is that crane for the Freedom Tower? Or are they still working on the train stations below? I remember somewhere that they said steel would be delivered to the site one of these upcoming months, or maybe it was last month and their late :|

(sorry if it's a stupid question)

We haven't heard anything new on the mall-vs-street discussion lately. I wonder what's going on there.

Indirectly perhaps. They are still doing the twice-weekly blastings for the footings.

Interesting pictures. I see the cross of beams is still there. Is anything in these pictures part of the original WTC garage remains?
