    MrShakespeare,

In SOM's Image Gallery, in the fourth picture from the left, there seems to be a small stacking diagram. Maybe this is what JMGarcia was referring to.

Ok, let's peacefully agree to disagree on whether people will want to work there. Simply put, IMO people will not reject a job offer when they learn it's at the Freedom Tower, this comes from asking a few of my coworkers. I'd like to point out the fact that in those polls they survey "residents of nyc" obviously most of those people do not work downtown so they can't really have significant say on the matter. Think about what the poll question sounds like to a guy who works in a deli? "Would you be willing to work in a 1776 foot deathtrap?" I think many of the people polled would not want to work in a skyscraper, period. Just my opinion, I could be totally wrong. We'll find out if the tower will be a success or not in some number of years.

Yesterday I sent a request to the press office at SOM asking for a larger, more detailed stacking image (there is a link for that purpose on the Freedom Tower site). No word from them yet, however.

Good idea, it's kind of a tiresome subject and unless we get Carnack to weigh in it's really unanswerable. The only one with a vested interest in the answer is Silverstein & the PA.

Thank you someone said it, i was also getting sick of the pages and pages of will people work there, wont they? surveys and crap, ive got to say this thread, even thought probably the most important on the site can get pretty repetitive!

That spire sucks. The Freedom Tower is a hard crystalline form and putting a 1950s jet age craze-style shaft on top makes it look awkward (..I feel like we're reliving the 50s architecturally). I suppose as an alternative the spire should be the exact same shape as the building. Done fairly slender it'll make the lower part feel longer and much more complete. Hopefully Childs can delightfully surprise me again whenever new renderings come out.

See you're not taking into account taht the spire has to carry a 50 megaton warhead to Iran. The building is great but now that I see it next to 7 it seems like a 1000 feet too short lol

Below the tree line, is that the Transit Complex that's going to connect the WFC, Calavatrava station and the Fulton Street Complex?.

If you're referring to the yellowish-colored area with the vaulted ceiling then it appears so.

Other passageways at the Fulton treet Transit Center were peviously mentioned to be 40-feet wide (although it has recenetly been reported that the Dey St. passageway will be down-sized).

This image shows the underground passageways to be built as part of the Fulton Center (with the Calatrava station at the left, where an underground passageway will continue under Vesey St. to WFT):

    From NY Daily News, 1.25.04:

"...the hub will include critical east-west connections to different subway lines and ferries. This will link the World Financial Center and the Wall Street area, untangle downtown's knotted mass-transit network and provide New York and New Jersey workers with quick, convenient access to their jobs."
