What a soulless looking lobby. At least the wood reception desk area in the old rendering made things somewhat bearable.

The design looks the same to me - unfortunately. The "old rendering" appears to be more detailed than the "new" one. The wood-paneled section of wall is visible in both renderings, but it's really washed out in one of them. It seems like they've rendered the lobby to appear full of sunlight in the latest image (I'm skeptical about the accuracy of that). They also removed the art from the walls in that rendering.

I thought the WTC Tower lobbies were dreary. This is worse.

Bring on the art deco, in spades...something to outdo the Chrysler Building lobby, if that's possible.

"each building will be unique in shape....."
David Childs needs to be shot with shit for trying to pawn
that building off (on the far right of the image) as unique!
What excuse does he have for even including that bomb proof bottom
(obviously designed for the identical looking Freedom tower -YUK), amongst all the others without?

Weren't those towers designed after the 1 WTC? Only a souless development such as this would rip off FT's souless design.

This looks like a pretty bad copying act. After all this time in trying to design this tower, someone just replicates it, it's like a slap in the face. I actually like the tower's design, at least it has a design, but I wish the rats tail on the top would not be there. The lobby is very depressing though. The lobby looks about as interesting as walking into a giant air duct or perhaps an empty pipe underneath the city.

    New renderings from wtc.com

Freedom and Tower 2 are looking more like twins...

Great new images! I don’t know what I think of the new parapet for the Freedom Tower yet, I do like the upper facade treatment though.

    Default FT Spire

The FT Spire is still the least inspiring aspect of the whole project. It detracts from the FT as well as the other buildings that are part of the ensamble. It still reminds me of a rat tail. Even little old Philadelphia has it over on us when it comes to spire design. Is there still a chance the design can be improved.

It really is too bad that the spire isn't structural and lit from the inside. However, I think the design oof hte buildings have advanced and overll it certainly looks more cohesive as a grouping.
