It just dawned on me recently that a person will be able to stand at the corners of the base and have a 1400 foot building tower over them.

It's kind of a shame that that well not be possible, due to the light platforms. The renderings just don't show them, but the prints do.

New black tower crane sections just arrived and are sitting on the fulton street passageway. Looks like they are getting ready to jack the north crane

^ Ah, so I guessed right!
The 18000 keeps growing, it's well visible now even in low-res webcams. Looks huge already!!

Tell me about it. I had to take down those pics I posted from inside the site. The Port Authority frightens me.

It's like being on the set of one of James Cameron's latest films.

You mean there will be lights shining upwards along the sides of the corners? Cool!

Aw man. Are we talking Tribute in Light size lights or smaller ones just for the base of the tower?

Oh, that's what they used (for the time being) those black tower crane sections for - a temporary support for the new crane boom, while it's being assembled! I did not expect that.. but that's what it looks like!
P.S. Noticed hints of rope wire connecting mast/boom together, can expect it to be tall soon! How many more days they need to finish the assembly?
