You know, the verizon building has been in it's place for years and I love the building, including it's architecture, but I can completely see them remaking it as a glass office tower in about 15-20 years from now.

I apologize, I know this has been discussed before...where will the additional tower cranes be set up? Will they be installed before the office floors begin going up?

This thing is going to be hurdling through space after the sun supernovas. It is an absolute fortress.

I predict a pause in vertical progress as they complete the corner nodes, disassemble cranes, install new exterior tower cranes, etc--then we'll finally see floor-per-week progress in April or May.

Of course, I have no idea what I'm talking about.

You will never see 1 floor per week.

I see they have the manlifts up on the top deck. That usually means they are about to start the next level of core steel.

To assemble the other 2/3rds of the corner nodes they have to install the core steel or so that was my understanding.

Can't wait for 50 West Street to blot out that Moinian conversion on the right side.

I walked from Battery Park to 59th Street today. What an amazing city we live in. I don't think I will ever stop feeling like a tourist.
