Doesn't West Street have way too much traffic engineering?
Does it know if it's a boulevard or a highway?
Had to celebrate the temperature being over 40 degrees.

Beautiful photos, Derek. Will that landscaping continue up to around Goldman? The city should extend it all the way to 59th St.
Since Moinian's POS is a market-rate rental, it could be emptied easily. I'd like to see it razed.

Should be up to and well past goldman. It's already in at goldman. Then it continues up to 42nd st or so already. It's not as fancy the entire way, but there's definitely greenery in the median nearly the entire length to there.
It never does. Looking up 5th as I crossed it every day for a year never stopped taking my breath away. It's always changing.
Having watched the 60 minutes piece on the WTC I have concluded that they are biased and slanted, 21st century yellow journalism. (Very sad, 60 minutes was a very good show, 10 years ago)
I saw 2 or 3 seconds of Tower One, and a conscious effort to ignore the progress of Towers One and Four and the Memorial.
They did make several valid points about politics and bureaucracy and totally ignored all the progress.
Ask two questions, who owns CBS and what is there agenda ?
The answer is an entrainment company, and profit. They never let little things like facts get in the way of sales.
Agreed that the piece was composed in order to support the conclusion of failure.
Too bad it's not used as much. When the trees mature it will look even better.
Besides a few nice stores/restaurants in the Millennium Apartments, the stretch has almost no retail.
I think most end up walking/riding along the waterfront esplanade anyway.
Can't wait til construction gets to the point where we can see it from everywhere.

What were the other buildings going up concurrently with the twins? Is that One Liberty Plaza (or Deutsche Bank?) to the immediate left of WTC 1&2? And what's that going up closer to the Woolworth Bldg?
I didn't realize there was so much going on simultaneously at this time...
I believe that it WAS One Liberty Plaza.
Yeah, there's one off to the left, but I don't know what that is.
I think that's Federal Plaza. 1 Liberty is the one off to the left.
You can see 1 Liberty here also. I'm guessing that's Deutsche bank back there too.

What is the one on the right that was also u/c at that time? Or was it being given a new facade?![]()
