I'm actually quite impressed with the rate of construction at the moment on the entire site, even without work on towers 2 and 3. Include them, and you have practically a brand new city being built from scratch, and a skyline that any U.S. city not called NY or Chicago would be proud of.

That corner beam looks almost as if they pulled up a piece of debris from the original WTC and are putting it back in place.

For a moment I thought the same thing!!
    Thanks for the pictures guys!
So is it going to stay this way for the regular office floors: perimeter columns before the core steel?

Will that blue netting rise with the steel as the yellow protective bands rose with the steel of the twin towers?

    Default Google Maps

The Freedom tower shows up on google maps. Worth checking out to see how tall it currently is in compariosn to the other buildings (Although I think it's about 2 floors behind).

Jeez. I haven't viewed the forum in three days, and it looks two floors taller.

The oddest thing happened to me today as I was having lunch with a colleague here in New Orleans. The person right behind me was discussing 1 WTC, its construction, the financing problems, the fact that 4 WTC is under construction, etc. He even knew how high 1 WTC was. I thought I was the only one in New Orleans who kept up with this!

We here in Southern California also have a keen interest in keeping current with all WTC developments. Its reconstruction and the importance it holds for our country are of paramount interest. WTC and NYC are national treasures and are recognized as such from sea to shinning sea.

    I don't feel like waiting 7 hours.

James Kovata, the same thing happened to me this past December, in Berlin !

The wife and I were hoisting a few at a bier garden and of course my wife being in advertising had to inquire. Turned out one of the folks at the next table works for ThyssenKrupp AG, the company that has the elevator contract for Tower One.

Long story short, they were thrilled and honored to have a small part in rebuilding the WTC.

PS: my wife is half German.
