I have no problem with 2's "un-symmetrical" top. Even with that, the top is the best and most interesting part of the tower.
The only gripe I have with it is how it seems to turn its back to the rest of the city when viewed from the east but that is only a very minor quibble.
Of the 3 in this rendering, I'd say 7 is the least interesting.

Seven has received national praise and attention when the announcement came in September '02 that it would be the very first office tower to be rebuilt on the land since the terror attacks.
Not surprisingly though, since no one was in the original building when it fell.

Why thank you! I will say most of the bad angles are only visible from the river. Like, you have to literally be in the river.
Construction drawings were completed and sent out for bid in 2008.

^Uhh...yeah. That's not new information. Every inch of the roof is taken up by cooling plants, broadcast equipment, guy wires, and window washing equipment.
That's too bad. But since things are more involved & evolved since 1970, guess it couldn't be helped. I don't think seeing the view from the inside will make it any less spectacular.
I think the outdoor deck was killed when they decided they weren't going to reuse the full capacity of the old WTC Hudson River-cooled chiller plant, and instead use air cooling in each of the buildings. Air cooling takes up a lot more space and makes the roof a lot noisier.
The roof, I imagine, will be awfully sturdy to be able to hold all that equipment up there!

No, I didn't. I'm sure if I perused this entire thread with all 9,500 posts I would've caught it, but I have many different interests on many different sites, so I'm really an architectural neophyte.
