Chicago was always trying to outdo New York City. It did it with the Willis Tower in the '70s. It tried again with the Chicago Spire, but didn't get the Job Done. Seems that all of its planned projects as of late, have been killed or at least put on the back burner. What is going to become of that round hole where the CS was going to go?

They're really flying now. It's taking about 2 days to put up each new round of vertical steel.

In a month or so, the "puncture" will really become more noticeable. It will be nice to see something break through that invisible ceiling the hovers over that area of downtown.

It's been over 10 years, as we all know it, since our beloved former WTC was cut down by mad terrorists. Be great to see a new tower that's as tall as the Twins were, piercing and reclaiming the skies over Lower Manhattan. Yes, LORD!!!!!!!

Amen. They are getting there one 'floor' at time. And this is the second time around; this same firm was the CM for the original TWIN TOWERS.

I just had to post that pic here. Reniniscent almost, of when the Twins were being built. In comparison to one of the Twins, in this case, the North Tower when it was being built back in the late '60s / early '70s.

Actually, Tishman also built BOTH 7 WTC Towers as well.

These 2 pics look almost identical, except that the 1st one was taken in the '30s when either the ESB or the Chrysler Buildings were being built. No floor for the workers to rest their feet on.

The other one is taken of WTC 1 being built. Just a little bit of a step back in time.
