    It may surprise us.

    Default Bad Design

It's a shame to build an office tower on a 185-foot-tall blind pedestal.
Very bad design, very poor architecture.
A blind wall is still a blind wall, whether you cover it with glass or not.

added: I know "The design was required to withstand a truck bomb blast."
My point is that this is an unreasonable requirement.
Such a building should not be built, and making one single building bombproof is useless when all others are not.
Still I wish for the best and am happy to see a WTC area rebirth.

Yet 1WTC gets away with it ever so nicely.

You understand that there were certain security concerns, hence the blast walls?

    Did you read the article?
The design was required to withstand a truck bomb blast.
Now go and come up with a better solution.

So tall already! 1WTC just dwarfs everything in the nearby area, and is still has so much to go!

Yeah, I don't care so much about the ground floors as I do about the top floors. Now where is that darn restaurant

11.05.11 Dunno GS looks out of place in these shots.

The fall sun is beautiful...and depressing.
Also happy that the new WTC will appear so luminous, especially compared to their drab predecessors.

This will be the post card angle. Works well with the WFC and you'll be able to see all 4/5 towers all together. Just imagine the diamonds on 2WTC in the setting sun.

The X-Square towers on the right will be the foothills for even taller towers behind them.

WTC1 is looking great. Now let's scrap the Foster and Rogers buildings and just build a matching tower in that spot.

Two of these will not have the same effect.
