The void has faded.
About damn time, too. It's weird thinking how out of context One WTC is without 175 & 200 Greenwich, and how they'll mellow out the monolithic nature of One WTC significantly.
Here's my One World Trade Center update from this weekend.

Awesome photos, Irish. I like the guy in the hammock.
And thanks again.![]()
I find the aesthetic differences between the old and new WTC complexes in the context of their neighborhood to be quite interesting. The original complex turned its back to the waterfront (because of the elevated viaduct), and welcomed people from Church Street. The new complex welcomes people from West and Liberty Streets, with its back turned towards Church and Vesey Streets. It's as if the face of the complex turned around to embrace the WFC, while the old complex used the WFC as a skirting to beautify its tall and monolithic backside. With only 1WTC, 4WTC, and 7WTC erected, however, this image isn't yet realized, and the complex looks sparse and arbitrary.
Thanks so much IrishInNYC for those breathtaking pictures!
