Seeing as how the current design for 2 WTC will be over 10 years old if it ever starts to rise, I wonder if the design will be revised before something goes up there?

I have a feeling that if tenants aren't found for towers 2 and 3 within the next two years, new mixed-use plans will start floating around. Especially if 1 and 4 aren't filled.

But even if they did that there would still I admit be complaints for years to come.
Needs to be thought of as a collective, changing 1 or 2 would affect 3, 4 (and 5). Though 1 being taller would have been great (actually building to 1776 perhaps), I can't really fault how it will look when (it is all) complete.

Update: It's out. No smoke was seen outside the building.

Update 2: Now reports are saying there was no fire. Once firefighters got there they could not find anything.

BREAKING: It turns out the fire call reported at 1-WorldTradeCenter is a false alarm. Crews now say NO fire on the 88th floor.

This type of scare won't help finding tenants

Yes. Speaking to guys onsite at the top of the house. False alarm.

To put things in perspective...today someone on the WSH saw DCM preheating steel with a torch...a standard thing done millions of times on the WTC. They called what seemed like every firehouse in the city (and the media no doubt) and essentially shut down the Tower for 2 hrs....let's say 1500 workers, on standby, at an average of $80 an hour. $120K of wasted payroll...not to mention the thousands in city costs for cops and FDNY. Someone with bad glasses cost a half million bucks to contractors and the city of NY this morning. Bravo bonehead.

Reported on news yesterday that tower 1 is 55% leased. Keep them coming.

Very nice, indeed. In fact, this may be the best evening render thus far.

Not only that but it won't have any effect on finding tenants in any way whatsoever!

GOD! Where are 2 and 3 when you need them? The gap between 1 and 4 is very large.

Don't get me wrong. I'm thrilled that they're being built. However, if they had to economize, they should have built 2 (or perhaps 3) instead of 4.

Is there an time limitation for Silverstein to find tenants for 3WTC before the PA withdraws its financial support to finish 3WTC?
