There are no escalators in the print I posted. There are no corresponding renders. The render you posted does roughly correspond to the stairs in the print I posted.

is this some temporary supports going in for the north/south arches?

where are the 4 (2) cols in that print?

thanks for spending the time to make these "postable"

Looks to me like the west one is just an existing column sticking up above the new roof line. The east one looks like wall demo, for what I don't know.

I well not rule out temporary supports for the new ribs at this time.

Anything is possible with there having to keep the PATH station open and operating throughout construction.

( Let me be clear, I do not have inside info, I am expressing my professional opinion on how they might erect the ribs.)

Well that square cut-out in the wall looks like the mount for the arch that spans the station to the box girder.

Never noticed it sitting there - one of the columns for the north side arches?

I was just about to post the same thing, as I just noticed it... think it just appeared overnight, and yes its definetly a column for the north side. Notice it also lines up with the east-west connector columns.

They are also digging out hole (doing it again - it was covered with dirt for some time) for southern Supercolumn foundation on the east side of the box. Maybe work on it will start soon!
Also, it would be very interesting to see what's being done just to the west of the box, how work on those foundations is moving along. I see they are prerequisites for almost everything else related to PATH hall...

Awesome shots! (First ones from high floors of WTC7?)
That "start of something in the bottom left corner" does certainly look like a parallelogram, a footing for the northern Supercolumn, to be shared by West Truss and Box Girder (I might not be 100% correct here...)

I think it's the utility trench connecting the Hub with the Chiller plant.

    Great shots, Sal!

AWESOME shots Sal!! please keep us postd on that 48th floor angle. (if u can)

so much of that work is going undocumented..

from teh reverse angle i noticed some white "sheets" covering where the South Supercolumn should be,.
i suspec tthe south super column is further along than the earthcam leads one to believe. they just poured on the eastern side of the South SC yesterday.

Thanks Sal! Would be very interesting to take a look from there now! There must be a lot of progress, seeing all the cranes and concrete trucks around there all the time!...
One thing I never really noticed before - that forest of supports under #1 Box has network of diagonal beams beams in it that resembles double arched span (have no idea how it's called actually, sorry) on the other side, where PATH Hall will be... Just a coincidence, or it has something to do with it?

Where's that diagram? I can't seem to find it.

I think the "truss" thing they got going on there is just to make sure that the supports don't bend or buckle through the excavation. I never expected it to be so tall. Kind of reminds me of 125th Street station up the line.
