I know I may be asking an old question, but are these super-columns going to be important in building the above-ground portion of the transit hub? Sorry. I'm still trying to comprehend what exactly is going on here...

The Box Girder, and both the east and west trusses need the supercolums to support the span over the future concourse, beneath the subway box.

I talked to a supervisor yesterday who claimed he's attached to the transit hub. He claimed there a good chance we'll see above ground work by Christmas. When I expressed surprise at that, he said that work is already starting on the second level and they (and the entire WTC site) are "hauling ass" right now. He also said, incidently, he knows of nothing that will collaborate the recent rumors 2 and 3 will go up with out delay.

There's a new yellow crane on the 16,000's pad (over by 1WTC).

I noticed in last 2 weeks they been working pretty much non stop, pretty much 24 hours per day.
