The matching set of pieces for the north end of the wall arrived on site today, Saturday, May 19.

Looks like they're finally laying the roadbed of Greenwich just to the west of the Hub (atop the big arch and over the subway).

They're also going to have to redo the sections above the rest of the subway box, as well. I think the project is speeding along to allow or some sort of temporary entrance so that the PATH entrance can be demolished. It's in the way of a lot more than the PAC.

It seems they could theoretically use the on hold base of tower 2 as a temp entrance to the path to speed things along. I guess we'll see soon enough.

They can't do any of that until the Hub is substantially complete, which will be at least another year or so.

You can see that the columns are set back and that the Calatrava arches extend from the mid and top level platforms defined by the new beams that you mentioned.
Is it just me, or is the first part of this video terribly inaccurate? (Transit Hub and Dey street underpass placement)

Also, is the WTC concourse directly accessible from the southbound 1(IRT) platform? After looking at some site layouts, I don't see where they connect.

There are two concourses. One under Dey Street and one under Fulton Street. The one under Fulton has not been as fruitful as its neighbor in terms of media, possibly because it isn't done, yet(they have been tearing up Fulton Street over the years). It passes under the R at the base of Church and is right below the E and R mezzanine(which means that the Fulton Street IRT 4 station and the hub floor are at the same elevation).

The northbound platform of the 1 train is accessible via the transit hub's second level. The southbound will probably be available through various parts of the mall, as well as an entrance adjacent to the memorial along Greenwich Street.

Wow! I can't believe I missed that in the site maps; there's no trace of it here: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/08/ny...N_GRAPHIC.html
(I still don't understand why the Brookfield video portrays the Transit Hub as being directly across the street from St. Paul's Chapel, where 2 WTC is supposed to be)

I was thinking if this were the case, there would probably be an underpass at the extreme north end of the Cortlandt St. station (like the old station), otherwise people would be exiting into the open space above the path or, as you said, to Greenwich St. above. The plans I've seen don't really make it clear.

btw that panorama is amazing, what a sense of space!

I am quite positive there is no connector under fulton between broadway and church. I think the video is just hacked together to not make it look so convoluted. The fact of the matter is that while this will connect all of the stations going across town, you will still have to walk up stairs from the 2/3, down the escalators to the A, up to the new 4/5 underpass, down the 4/5 platform to Dey st., down under the R, back up the other side, along the e platform, up the stairs, over, and back down the stairs onto the A/C platform, then up the stairs and back down 2 flights of stairs to get to the park place platform (thus walking from the Fulton 2/3 to the PP 2/3).

I agree, upon further inspection the brookfield video is a load of rubbish. However, I'm assuming (read: hoping) that the second part of the video (after the viewer enters the transit hall) is accurate, because it's the only walk-through animation I've seen that extends to the World Financial Center under the West Side Highway.

Looks like a second crane is being assembled on the "sliding track."
